Nicole Hosbach has been dancing since the age of two. Nicole has studied all aspects of dance. She has a degree in Dance Education from the University of Miami, FL and holds a degree in the Teaching of Dance from Western Kentucky University, KY. Nicole’s credits are numerous. She started her performing career with the New Jersey Nets. She was the Director and Choreographer, as well as being a dancer for nine years. She then became a dancer for the New York Knicks City Dancers. She was the Director and dancer for the New Jersey Rockin’ Rollers roller hockey team. She has danced and performed in many music videos. Miss Nicole was an assistant choreographer for the “1998 Orange Bowl Parade”. She was a featured dancer in the “Fisher King” starring Robin Williams. She choreographed and danced in the “George of the Jungle” Fox –TV cartoon with tap great Savion Glover. Her T.V. credits include “USA Up All Night” with Gilbert Godfried, NBA “Inside Stuff”, HBO’s “Comedy Central”, MTV’s “Lip Service” and “The Joe Franklin Show” to name a few. She was also a regular guest on “Imus in the Morning” for five years.
Miss Nicole is extremely excited to have NBDC featured in Dance Spirit Magazine and as one of the top 50 dance schools on the rise! Way to go NBDC!
Her choreography has won many awards and NBDC has won many awards including, “The Most Outstanding Dance Studio”. Many of Nicole’s students have gone on to be professional dancers and dance teachers. (Miss Ashley was one of her students.)
While she loves performing…her greatest achievement is the level of professionalism of her teaching staff, the talent level of all the students, as well as having the #1 dance studio in Morris County for thirteen years!
Tracy Badini is happy to be completing her 13th year of teaching at NBDC. Tracy began training at the New Jersey School of Ballet and performed with the company at Paper Mill Playhouse. She then continued her training at The School of American Ballet in New York City. While at SAB, Tracy performed with the New York City Ballet at Lincoln Center in works that included: “Coppelia” “Midsummer’s Night Dream”, “Union Jack” and “The Nutcracker”. Tracy also danced at a special tribute to Jerome Robbins and Patricia McBride at Lincoln Center. She then became a dancer for the New Jersey Nets for four years. Tracy has won several awards for her choreography including “Best Choreographer”, “Outstanding Choreography”, “Top Soloist”, “Top Duo/Trio” and “Top Group”. Miss Tracy’s talent and dance experience shines through her students and choreography. Tracy’s style and up beat way of teaching make her classes very fun and exciting. Tracy still continues to study dance in NYC. Tracy was selected as a guest choreographer for “Dance Rave, New York” & the “Junior Nets”. Miss Tracy is the assistant director of our company team.
John Barbieri has been teaching dance for 25 years in New York City, Queens and Brooklyn. Mr. John has been on the NBDC staff for the past 8 years. John teaches all forms of dance: ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop and acrobatics. His choreography has won many awards. A few are “Outstanding Choreography”, “High Scores”, and “Best Costume” (that he makes)! Mr. John has choreographed for International competitions and shows. John has performed in Germany representing the United States for the past four years. John judges at National Competitions throughout the tri-state area. Mr. John has choreographer for the New Jersey Nets Junior Dance Team. He has also been a guest teacher at many schools and dance conventions. John is a very talented dancer and performer. John’s Hip Hop style is fun and unique and his classes are full of energy.
Nick DiNicolangelo has been a charter member of the New Jersey Tap Ensemble since its creation in 1994. Mr. Nick was honored with the title of dance captain last year for the Tap Ensemble. Dancing for 23 years and teaching at nbdcfor 11, Nick has performed with tap greats such as Lon Chaney, Buster Brown and Savion Glover. Nick was the first
male scholarship winner at N.Y. Dance Olympus and a finalist in the New Jersey “Teen Arts Festival” at Rutgers University. He was a featured dancer and assistant choreographer to Jaques d’Amboise’s, “Fat City”. Nick was also the founder and choreographer of “D-5”, an all boy Hip-Hop dance group. He has studied under Deborah Mitchell of Broadway’s “Black & Blue” and other tap experts in NYC. Mr. Nick’s choreography has won many prestigious awards such as, “Best Choreography”, “Top Overall Score” and “Best Performance”. Nick is an adjudicator for the Hall of Fame Dance Competition as well as Dance Masters of America. Mr. Nick is a master teacher for the dance convention Adrenaline, traveling throughout the country. Mr. Nick is also on staff of the dance convention, SLIDE… Nick is still performing and choreographing the Off-Broadway show “Tapoholoics!” directed by Mike Minery. Nick’s experiences with many tap greats, has made him stand out as a dance instructor.
Cheryl Downey holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in dance from Montclair State College. As a member of their dance repertory company, she has performed all over the country including the Gala Concert of the American Dance Festival in North Carolina. She has studied all forms of dance with such esteemed talents as Vincent Wineglass, Jaclyn Villamil, Sara Pearson, Daniel Shapiro, Joe Tremaine, Frank Hatchett, Debbie Dee, Greg Russell and Doug Caldwell. Cheryl has been teaching tap, ballet and jazz for 21 years at several schools throughout New Jersey. She has been on staff at NBDC for the past 11 years. Her choreography has been recognized at many competitions and her students have won many awards including “High Score”, “The Entertainer Award”, “Outstanding Choreography” and “National Grand Champions”.
Ashley Hosbach holds a dance certification from Jacksonville University, Florida. She also holds a certificate in dance education, specializing in children. Ashley started performing with the New Jersey Nets dancers for five years. She then continued with the New York Knicks for eight years, where she was the captain of the team for five years. She was also a choreographer for the team. She was the Assistant Director of the New York Knicks Dancer Boot Camps. She has danced with the New Jersey Rockin’ Rollers, the New York City Hawks and the New York Liberty. She has been seen on many T.V. programs, including “Live With Regis and Kathie Lee”, “The Ricki Lake Show”, “Fox & Friends”, “The Metro Channel”, “ MTV Road Rules” and “Good Morning America”. She has been a guest of WKTU radio as well as Z-100. Ashley was honored to dance at “NBA All-Star Weekend,” in New York and Atlanta”. She danced at the premiere of “Jerry Maguire”, “The ESPY Awards”, “The
N.Y. Auto Show” and was selected as a “Virgin Cola Girl”. Ashley has been featured in many music videos including “Pink”, “Rakim” and “Jock Jams”, where she also sang backup vocals. She has done many television commercials for the NBA, Madison Square Garden and TNT her favorite being the one she filmed with NBA star Alan Iverson and the legendary James Brown himself! She continues to do several public appearances throughout the country as well as working with many charity and community service organizations. She has been a guest teacher at several dance conventions, as well as a judge at many competitions. She was also a choreographer for the New York Knick City Junior Dance Team and the choreographer/assistant director of the New York Liberty Dance Team and the Liberty Lil’ Torches. She was also the director of the New Jersey Nets Junior Dance Team for 2 years. Ashley is the director of the NBDC competition team.
Alexa Lasso began her training at the age of 2 ½ years old with Miss Nicole as her teacher. Professionally, Alexa has danced with the New York Liberty, New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, New Jersey Tap Ensemble and performed on the Queen Latifah show. Alexa has loved learning and perfoming all aspects of dance.
Justin Mannhas become one of the hottest choreographers in the country! Justin hails from North Carolina, where he grew up taking classes at his mother's dance studio. Justin has studied all aspects of dance. He teaches jazz and lyrical. He is also a technique master! By the age of 18 Justin had received scholarships to many dance companies around the country including: Steps on Broadway, The Joffery, The Edge, Chitiqua, North Carolina School of the Arts and Gus Giordano's Dance Company. Justin's career as a choreographer began 4 years ago. His accomplishments and awards thus far are incredible. He has choreographed at a National Level. His work has won many prestigious awards including "Choreographer of the Year", "Top Teacher", and "Top Technique". He is a competition adjudicator during the dance year traveling the country for both judging and choreography. Justin's unique choreography and style of dance has earned him top honors from many choreographers in the industry. Justin has been featured many times in Dance Teacher Magazine and Dance Spirit Magazine. Justin has now been on staff at NBDC for 3 years.
Sarah Pennie received her classical ballet training at New Jersey School of Ballet and joined New Jersey Ballet Company as an apprentice during the 2005-2006 season. Her credits include roles in Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Esmeralda, Cinderella, Paquita and Giselle. She has been teaching children's classes for the past several years.
Kristin Spagnuolo was a student of Mr. Nick's for 6 years. She has been studying dance for the past 18 years. Kristen still continues her studies in NYC. She has currently graduated from Montclair State University holding a BA in English and Education and also a minor in dance. Kristin has also been a cheerleading coach for many team.
Natalie Stephens is from Joliet, IL where she began dancing at the age of three. There she spent most of her time competing and performing in various musicals and concerts. Dance Educators of America awarded her a scholarship to pursue her dance education at UNLV. She studied there for one summer and continued at Milliken University where she received her BFA. Natalie moved to New York six years ago and has been performing professionally and teaching at various studios and performing arts centers. She has toured with the Indianapolis Ballet Company performing in "The Nutcracker" and with American Family Theater performing in "Sleeping Beauty". The highlight of her career thus far was when she was asked to tour Italy dancing in their summer festivals. Miss Natalie is also a judge on the competition circuit.
Michelle Tombs was a student at NBDC for many years before working in the office. She studied all aspects of dance. Her knowledge of dance allows her to answer all of your questions…When Michelle is not in the office, she can usually be found substituting classes or making costumes. She enjoys working with children so much that she has received her teaching certificate specializing in children’s work in NYC. Miss Michelle is a pleasure to have in the studio.
Nick Zborowski began his training at eleven, studying all forms of dance. Specializing in hip hop and tap, Nick has been able to work with artists, choreographers, and dancers all over the world. He began teaching for Adrenaline and Showbiz "The Class" National Convention. He also began choreographing award-winning pieces all over the country. He quickly became known for his smooth style and eneretic choreography. Nick Z. currently lives in Los Angeles and has added acting to his many talents. He has appeared on episodes of MTV's hit television show Punk'd, print advertisements and commercials. He was selected as a dancer for Latin superstar Chayanne for his World Tour and MTV's Latin Video Music Awards. Nick has also performed in Europe and Panama for the Ms. World Pageant and the Ms. Universe Pageant. His choreography is in demand from many studios from all over the United States. Nick is currently on staff, teaching hip hop at one of LA's top dance studios: Debbie Reynold's Studio. Nick's many talents have paved the road to success. Nick's hard work, unique style, and creativity make him one of the most up and coming talents in the entertainment industry. Nick Z brings LA to NBDC and we are thrilled to be able to work with him!
